2nd Police Fencing 2009 ร่วมกับ มหาวิทยาลัยธุรกิจบัณฑิต งานนี้ขอชมว่า อำนวยการจัดการแข่งขันได้ค่อนข้างดีทีเดียว โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง การใช้เครื่องช่วยกรรมการตัดสิน การดูภาพย้อนกลับ จ้าวแรกและจ้าวเดียวในเมืองไทย ขอนับถือความพยายามและความคิดสร้างสรรค์ที่มีให้แก่วงการ มีระดับการพัฒนามากขึ้น ดีมากครับ ใกล้เคียงมาตรฐาน FIE ของจริง นิสนึงนะ สำคัญเหมือนกัน แก้ไขการลงทะเบียน ให้กระชับขึ้น สวยเลย เริ่มเช้าเลิกบ่าย ดีกว่าเลิกค่ำ ฟันดาบเราจะสนุกขึ้น มีเวลาไปทำอย่างอื่นได้

5. Participants
(i) Opened only to member countries of the Fencing Confederation of Asia and the Oceania Fencing Confederation.
(ii) Each country can enter four (4) competitors to each individual event and one (1) team of three (3) competitors and one (1) substitute in each team event.
6. Entries
(i) Preliminary Entry (by event and number) – Form 1, by Fri, 15 May 2009.
(ii) Final Entry (by event and name) – Forms 2 & 3, by Mon, 15 Jun 2009.
7. Photos

8. Competition Methods
The fencing competition shall be conducted in accordance with the current Statutes and Rules of the FIE. In case of disagreement in interpretation of the Rules, the latest English version shall prevail. The Directoire de Technique shall deal with any unforeseen incidents not covered by the Rules.
9. Equipment
All equipment used must pass standard weapon and equipment tests as prescribed by FIE. Kindly note it is COMPULSORY for all participants to wear FIE 800N underplastrons and minimum 350N fencing jackets / breeches. It is NOT COMPULSORY, however, to use foil masks with conductive bib nor transparent masks. All equipment must be sent for weapons testing and marked by us before they can be used in the competition.
10. Competition Management
(a) Referee
FIE-licensed referees will be designated by the FCA.
Referees must present themselves during the referee meeting on Wed, 15 July 2009. All referees must be properly attired in jacket/blazer and long pants.
(b) Directoire de Technique (DT)
The DT shall be responsible for the technical organisation of the competition. The members shall consist of 5 DTs from different countries and the chief of DT assigned by FCA.
(c) Protests
Appeals against decisions of a referee should be immediately made by the competitors or their team captains to the referee, before any decision is made regarding a subsequent hit. If the referee should maintain his decision, the complaint shall be brought to the attention of the DT.
11. Prizes
(i) Individual events: One Gold, one Silver, and two Bronze medals to the top 4 fencers and Diplomas to the top 8 fencers.
(ii) Team events: Four Gold medals for the champion team, Four Silver medals for the second placed team, and two sets of 4 Bronze medals for the two losing teams in the semi-finals, and Diplomas to the members of the top eight teams.
12. Entry Fees, Accommodation & Food
The rate of entry fees is SGD50.00/person/individual event and SGD130.00/team/event.

14. General Information
(i) Currency
Singapore’s unit of currency is the Singapore Dollar (SGD). Foreign currency can be exchanged freely at banks, hotels, the airport and most big shopping malls. Current exchange rate is approximately SGD 1.55 for USD 1.00. Major credit cards are widely accepted in most places.
(ii) Entry Formalisation
All passengers entering Singapore must possess valid passports, participants are recommended to check with local Singapore Embassies for visa applications before traveling.
Foreigners holding travel documents issued by the following countries will require a Visa to enter Singapore:

Singapore has a warm and humid climate throughout the year with a daily average temperature range of 24°C to 32°C. There may be isolated to scattered late morning and early afternoon showers during the competition period. Light clothing made from natural fabrics like cotton is best for everyday wear.
(iv) Water & Electricity
It is safe to drink water straight from the tap in Singapore. However, for those who prefer bottled mineral water, any supermarket will have ample stocks. (v) Tipping
Tipping is not encouraged as most hotels and restaurants in Singapore already levy a 10% service charge on customers’ bills. Tipping is not a way of life in Singapore and is prohibited at the airport.
(vi) Smoking
Smoking in all air-conditioned public places (including education institutions) is against the law and subject to a SGD 1,000 fine. Smoking is also prohibited in all covered areas, including shopping centres, restaurants, cafes and bars (some are allowed to set up special smoking rooms). Smoking is also banned in outdoor eateries, coffee shops, canteens and cafes (some areas are set aside for smoking).
