2008 Asian Junior & Cadet Fencing Championships

To all the Asian fencing federations affiliated to the FCA,
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the coming Asian Junior & Cadet fencing Championships 2008.
This great event will take place in Yanggu city, Korea, from 24 to 30 October 2008.
You will find enclosed the event regulations as well as several documents aimed at facilitating your stay in Yanggu city.

- Competition Formula :
The fencing competition shall be conducted in accordance with the current Statues and Rules of the FIE. In case of disagreement in interpretation of the Rule, the latest Version shall prevail. The Director Technique shall deal with any unforeseen incidents not covered by the Rule.
- Participants :
- Open only to countries member from Asia Confederation & Oceania Confederation.
Each country can enter 4 competitors to each individual event.
- Each country participating can enter one (1) team of 3 competitors and 1 reserve in
the team competitions.
- Inscription & Entry Fee :
Inscription must be received by the organizing committee
- Preliminary entry (by numbers) – by Aug. 30, 2008 “FORM A”
- Final entry (by name) - by Sep. 30, 2008 “FORM B1, B2, B3, B4”

- Referee :
FIE licensed referees will designated by FCA
Referees must present themselves on Oct.24 to referee meeting.
- Equipment :
All equipment and installation shall comply with the FIE Rules for competitions
(Use of maraging blades, transparent masks and wireless machines is optional.)
- The Director Technique(DT) :
The DT shall be responsible for the technical organization of the competition. The members shall consist of 5 DTs from different countries and the chief of DT designed by FCA.
- Awards :
- For individual events: one Gold, one Silver, and two Bronze medals to the top 4 fencers and Diploma to the top 8 fencers.
- For team events: Four Gold medals for the champion team, Four Silver medals for the second placed team, and two sets of 4 Bronze medals for the two losing teams in the semi-finals, and Diploma to the members of the top eight teams.

The organizing committee provides transportation airport/ hotel, motel/ airport to all delegation. And during all the competition hotel, motel/ venue
- Visa :
We recommend you to verify with Korean Embassy in your country.
- General Information :
- Climate : The average temperature is around 10°C ~ 25°C in October. The steadily clearing autumn weather makes for pleasant days and cool evenings, one of the best seasons of the year.
- Currency : Korean’s unit of currency is the Won(\). Current exchange rate approximately 1 US Dollar=1000 Won. Credit cards are widely accepted in most hotels and restaurants.
- Electricity : Electric current is 220 Volts AC.
